Applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain and British Citizenship

Indefinite leave to remain is the term used for settling permanently in the UK. It’s sometimes called ‘settlement’. People with indefinite leave to remain can live, work and study here for as long as they like and apply for benefits eligible. You can use it to apply for British citizenship.

You can usually apply for indefinite leave to remain after five years and British citizenship a year after that. The rules are slightly different for some routes and people who get indefinite leave to remain as a partner can usually get British citizenship straight away after.

We can assist with indefinite leave to remain applications and applications for British citizenship.
